Authentic Tea Ceremony
in The Museum of Kyoto
This is an experience that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the authentic and traditional world of chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony) within a special room imbued with the atmosphere of the Edo period.
You will be guided to a traditional Japanese house on the basement floor, imbued with the elegant atmosphere of the Edo period.
From within, you can enjoy views of a meticulously designed garden.
You will wear a traditional haori (kimono-style jacket).
You will enter the tea room and enjoy premium traditional sweets (jonamagashi) and matcha while observing the tea-making procedure (otemae) performed by an expert tea master.
Afterward, you will whisk your own bowl of matcha and enjoy it together with a second sweet.
